    • Pantagraph obituary: George L. King George L. King, 61, a resident of the McLean County Nursing Home died at the home at 10 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. King was a farmer until he suffered an illness 30 years ago. He had been an invalid since that time. He was brought to the Beck Memorial Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Elder A. E. Pender of the 7th Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Mr. King was born Feb. 13, 1898, at Gravel Switch, Ky., the son of Frank and Mary Tabscott King. He was married to Eva Miller in Bloomington in 1923. His wife preceded him in death, as did his parents, one son, three sisters and one brother. Surviving are three sisters, and two brothers: Mrs. Martha Baugh, 1219 N. Lee St.; Mrs. Bessie Chatham Whitmer, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Mrs. Myrtle Lott, Metropolis; J. R. King, R. R. 4 nd John O. King, 4081/2 E. Market St. Mr. King was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.

      According to Maudie Lockenvitz, George Leslie King lived in several nursing homes after his mother died. He died at the McLean County Nursing Home on Route 51 south of Bloomington, which was better known as "the Poor Farm".
