    • Pantagraph story: Motorcyclist Dies Of Crash Injuries. Donald Bourge Fatally Injured Striking Truck. Donald Edward Bourge, 28, of 814 Mayflower died at 1 p. m. Saturday of injuries from a collision of his motorcycle and a truck at Washington and McClun at 11:40 a. m. Police said that the motorcycle crashed into the turning truck. The accident victim was a carman for the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad. The motorcycle hit a concrete mix truck owned by the Modahl & Scott firm at 917 E. Grove, 2 1/2 blocks from the accident scene. Truck Driver Unhurt. The truck driver, James W. Rice, 27, of LeRoy was not injured. From accounts of Rice and other witnesses, police said the collision occurred when Bourge attempted to pass on his motorcycle as rice started a left turn. Both truck and motorcycle were moving west on Washington, with the truck being turned to go south on McClun. The motorcycle struck the left front fender of the truck, police said. Bourge was believed to have been thrown from his machine immediately on impact. Thrown Into Wall. He was thrown into a sidewalk retaining wall on the south side of Washington; police said. The wall deepens from McClun west to the Washington viaduct. The motorcycle flew in the same general direction, police said, but much farther. The machine came to rest 120 feet west of the point of impact, they reported. Three witnesses to the mishap told investigators they had seen a flashing turn signal on the truck operated by Rice. Bourge died at Mennonite Hospital an hour and 20 minutes after the accident. It was indicated that cause of death was internal head injuries, although Bourge suffered a number of other injuries as well. Funeral Tuesday. Bloomington firemen gave emergency aid to the victim, and other fire units were sent to wash down gasoline. Mr. Bourge's funeral will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Beck Memorial Home. The Rev. Cotherman will officiate, and burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the memorial home, beginning at 7 p. m. Sunday.
